Senior IT Business Analyst - Equity

Position Overview:
As an IT Business Analyst specializing in equity trading, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of our cash equity post-trade systems. You will collaborate closely with trading desks, technology teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and functionality of our systems. Your understanding of both IT and the equity trading domain will be essential in driving projects and initiatives that enhance our trading capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from trading teams and other stakeholders pertaining to cash equity post-trade processes.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to design, develop, and implement APIs for effective system integration and data exchange.
  • Conduct thorough testing of systems and processes to ensure compliance with business requirements and quality standards.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot post-trade systems, addressing issues in a timely manner to minimize disruptions.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the cash equity post-trade lifecycle.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and stakeholders on project statuses, risks, and opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of requirements.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies that may impact equity trading.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the investment banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong domain knowledge in equity trading and post-trade processes.
  • Proven experience in API development and system integration projects.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with trading platforms and systems, specifically related to cash equities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in the trading domain.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
