Business Analyst - Data ($20-30k; ibank)

Job description

Responsibilities

  • Support project managers in end‑to‑end project coordination, including preparing documentation, meeting materials, status reports, and action tracking.
  • Assist in gathering, clarifying, and documenting business requirements from internal stakeholders such as investment teams, operations, compliance, and technology.
  • Coordinate UAT activities: develop test cases, prepare test data, execute test steps, record defects, and support users during testing cycles.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to provide insights supporting investment decision‑making, product development, and strategic planning.
  • Analyse trading, market, and operational data to identify trends, patterns, performance metrics, and opportunities for process or business improvement.
  • Prepare dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights to business and senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (investment, risk, operations, technology) to support project delivery and data initiatives.
  • Assist in streamlining workflows, improving documentation quality, and enhancing data accuracy and reporting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Fresh graduates with rich internship experience, ideally from financial institutions, and good learning attitude will also be considered.
  • 0-2 years of experience in business analysis, project coordination, data analytics, or a similar role; internships are welcome.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret financial, trading, or operational data.
  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles, SDLC, UAT processes, and requirement gathering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to organize information clearly and professionally.
  • Detail‑oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Interest in capital markets, trading activities, and financial products is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in both Chinese and English - both are necessary
