Application Architect - banking ($65-75k + bonus)

It is a leading banking institution with westernised culture and great work flexibility.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with the enterprise architect to establish and uphold best practices.
• Perform technology evaluations to test new tools and methodologies.
• Identify and tackle recurring or potential challenges related to architecture, performance, and scalability.
• Assess the suitability of tools and frameworks within our system.
• Enhance database performance through query optimization, indexing, and caching strategies.
• Develop and manage shared libraries to promote code reusability and uniformity.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to outline system requirements and ensure smooth integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in distributed microservices architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and optimization techniques.
• Hands-on programming skills in Java; any experience in Kotlin would be ideal
• Extensive experience with Microservice Architecture and Kafka.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS) and cost management strategies.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication in English is necessary
• Candidates with banking, or big consulting firm backgrounds would be preferred
• No visa sponsorship would be given. Legal work rights in Hong Kong is necessary.
