Our Speakers

Cindy Chui - CEO, FastLane HR Solution Services

Cindy Chui is a Partner of FastLane Group and Head of FastLane HR, a Payroll and Human Resources outsourcing company. She is a qualified accountant with over 20 years of experience in accounting, auditing, corporate services, taxation, management and financial planning. She has worked with various multinationals including PricewaterhouseCoopers and ING.  Cindy was the Senior Vice President and Company Secretary of a Hong Kong GEM board-listed company. She holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and is also currently the Managing Director of Hong Kong Administrative Services since 2007 providing high-quality corporate services to local and overseas clients.

 


Derek Koo – Talent Manager, OKAY.com

Derek Koo is a real estate/retail/start-up HR with a decade of broad industry experience and APAC regional achievements. He has worked with global brands and industry disruptive start-ups from bricks to clicks. Derek offers expertise in Talent Acquisitions, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Compensations & Benefits and Training & Development. He has previously worked with Adidas, Dolce & Gabbana, Lane Crawford and now leading the HR of OKAY.com

A sports lover, Derek has represented Hong Kong in the National Rugby 15s Team from 2003 to 2010. He is still actively involved in playing and coaching rugby with Gaiwu Rugby Football Club. 



Anu Pathay – Talent Manager, Moneysmart

Anu has 15 years’ recruitment experience both in HK and the UK, specialising across multiple functions such as HR, Legal, Finance, IT and Sales & Marketing. After a successful career working in small boutique agencies, she moved an in-house in 2017 with MoneySmart which is a fast growing internet business HQ'd in Singapore. MoneySmart launched their Hong Kong offices in the fourth quarter of 2017 and Anu is leading Talent Acquisition for the HK operation. The business is expanding their HK headcount with just over 40 roles across various functions including Digital Content & Marketing, Business Development and Ops! She has first-hand experience of the various challenges that new start-ups face in sourcing and securing talent in HK. 


Alice Schutt – General Manager, Metta (Hong Kong)

Alice has been supporting entrepreneurs for nearly 6 years, since moving on from a career in restaurant and event management. After working for a fintech startup, she managed the Hong Kong chapter of a global non-profit organization, TiE, which helps budding entrepreneurs through mentorship programs, education and investment.

She joined Mettā in January 2016 as part of the founding team, and she is currently creating a global network of innovators, investors and enablers, who work towards solving today’s most pressing problems and who design the world of tomorrow.

Alice believes in the power of collaboration and communities, is devoting her career to providing opportunities through the creation of a global network of mutual support and shared knowledge.


James Bernardo, Programme Director, Garage Society (Moderator)

James Bernardo is the Programme Director at Garage Society, an innovative work community with locations in Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, and the Philippines. He spearheaded the development of the company's knowledge-sharing platform Garage Academy from the ground up after joining in 2015, and it has since become a leading platform for technology, startup, and creative-focused events and courses in
