2016 was a very successful year for Ambition Hong Kong - even more so given the economic challenges and uncertainty brought not only from the surprise 'yes' vote for Brexit and Mr. Trump's unexpected win in the US, but also with organisations, in general, being extra cautious with their 2016 recruitment strategies.
2016 is now a distant memory and we well and truly closed the door on the year last Friday at Ambition Hong Kong 2017 Kick-Off Meeting at Hong Kong Football Club (HKFC) .
Our annual kick-off meetings allow us to review 2016, revisit the reasons why we do what we do and discuss how we prepare ourselves to be the very best at what we do in order to service our clients and candidates in the best way possible for the coming year.
How do we find the best roles for the people we meet who are looking to progress their careers? How do we help organisations ensure they have the very best talent - especially with such strong competition for talent? And how do we ensure we develop our people to make sure that Ambition is a place they want to continue to grow their career.
We discussed our training programs that will be rolled out throughout the year which are bigger and better than they have ever been. We discussed our areas of growth which have come about through our consistent delivery to our clients and them now looking to us to expand our offering in further areas such as contracting staff as well as recruitment in the senior end through our executive search offering.
We were also reminded of how important it is to continue being specialists in the areas that we cover and we cannot lose sight of this. Our successful relationships are based on us knowing particular markets at a very deep level.
Later in the day, we were fortunate to have a very experienced external trainer come in and coach us on ‘Networking for Impact’.
Finally, it was a special day that allowed us to reward our Ambition people who have made an exceptional difference to the lives of our very valued candidates and clients.
Of course, no kick-off day at Ambition is quite complete without a bit of bonding and of course a bit of competition so we wrapped up the day with a trip to the bowling alley. I can categorically say from our experience, we’re better recruiters than we are bowlers...
So goodbye 2016 and hello 2017. We're ready for you.
