My client is a tech driven Trading house and their technology is the backbone of their success, they are seeking a skilled engineer to help us scale, secure, and automate our critical Windows infrastructure. If you are passionate about deep-dive problem-solving and building robust, automated systems, we want you on our team.
The Role:
As a Senior Windows Systems Engineer, you will be the go-to expert for our core Windows ecosystem. You will be responsible for ensuring the health, performance, and security of our environment, from the OS level up through critical services. This isn't just a maintenance role; it's an opportunity to architect improvements, eliminate manual processes through automation, and solve our most complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, deploy, and maintain our enterprise-level Microsoft Windows infrastructure, including Windows 10/11 endpoints and Windows Server 2016+
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot core services including Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and Kerberos.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and modules to automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring tasks, striving for full Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) where possible.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of the Windows operating system, applications, and underlying hardware to resolve complex issues.
- Proactively monitor system health and performance, conducting tuning and capacity planning for both physical and virtual (VMware/Hyper-V) environments.
- Serve as an escalation point for critical issues, providing expert-level support and guidance to the broader IT team.
- Collaborate with security teams to harden systems and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Advanced, hands-on experience with the inner workings of Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
- Proven ability to use PowerShell to automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring. (Please be prepared to provide examples of your work).
- A strong, working knowledge of core infrastructure services: Active Directory, Kerberos, DNS, and Group Policy.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues within Windows operating systems and applications.
- Experience with hardware monitoring and performance tuning in physical or virtualized environments.
