System Engineer - Server ($40-50k + bonus)

Job description

Our client, a leading global investment bank in Hong Kong, is seeking an experienced Server Engineer to manage and maintain their core technology systems, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of business-critical operations.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure maximum uptime, stability, and performance across all production environments.
  • Manage, allocate, and optimize IT infrastructure resources to deliver high-quality, reliable services.
  • Perform diagnostics, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting across platforms including Windows Server 2016/2019, Linux, and Citrix XenApp.
  • Lead and support system upgrades, implementations, and new technology rollouts.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and introduce third-party products to enhance efficiency, performance, and cost effectiveness.
  • Conduct vendor assessments, negotiate contracts, and manage IT procurement processes.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and oversight for incident and problem management.
  • Ensure compliance with IT audit standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Higher diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant
  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant work experience in IT
  • In-depth knowledge of IT operations, infrastructure management, and service delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure components including storage, servers, and databases.
  • Proven leadership and the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication in both Chinese and English (written and spoken)
