Our client is a leading international NGO committed to advancing social impact and community development across Asia and globally. With a strong presence in Hong Kong, the organization partners with donors, foundations, and corporate supporters to drive sustainable change.

The Philanthropy Manager will lead the fundraising team to design and implement strategies that grow philanthropic support for the NGO's mission. This role requires a dynamic leader with proven experience in NGO fundraising, donor engagement, and team management. The successful candidate will be bilingual in Cantonese and English, enabling effective communication with local and international stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet annual revenue targets.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Identify new funding opportunities and innovative approaches to diversify income streams.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 3-4 fundraising professionals.
  • Set clear goals, provide coaching, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Donor Engagement & Stewardship

  • Oversee donor communications, proposals, and reports to ensure transparency and impact.
  • Organize donor events, campaigns, and networking opportunities to strengthen relationships.

Collaboration & Representation

  • Work closely with program teams to align fundraising priorities with organizational needs.
  • Represent the NGO externally at events, meetings, and donor engagements.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track fundraising performance, prepare reports, and present updates to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical fundraising standards and local regulations.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in fundraising, philanthropy, or development within the NGO/nonprofit sector.
  • Proven track record in securing significant gifts and managing donor portfolios.
  • Strong leadership experience managing small teams (3-4 people).
  • Ability to work across cultures and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Passion for social impact and the mission of the NGO sector.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with creativity in fundraising approaches.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and resilient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in Cantonese and English (written and spoken).
