Our client is an international logistics company with a global presence. We are assisting them in seeking an experienced Legal Manager to join their global team. The successful candidate will oversee all legal matters related to the company's operations, provide strategic legal advice, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and support business growth with sound risk management.

Position Responsibilities

Corporate Governance & Compliance

• Advise management on corporate governance matters and ensure compliance with Hong Kong laws and international regulations.
• Draft and maintain internal policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments in shipping and logistics and assess their impact on the company.

Contract Management

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including supplier agreements, customer contracts, charter party agreements, and service-level agreements.
• Provide legal input on customized contractual arrangements specific to shipping and logistics operations.
• Ensure contracts are aligned with company policies and risk management standards.

Dispute Resolution & Claims Handling

• Manage and advise on claims related to shipping, logistics, and supplier/customer disputes.
• Coordinate with external counsel on litigation, arbitration, or mediation when necessary.
• Develop strategies to mitigate legal risks and resolve disputes efficiently.

Industry-Specific Legal Support

• Provide expert advice on shipping law, maritime regulations, and logistics-related legal issues.
• Support the business in navigating international shipping conventions and compliance requirements.
• Advise on insurance, liability, and risk allocation in shipping contracts.

Cross-Border & International Collaboration

• Work closely with the legal team in Moscow and other international offices to ensure consistency in legal practices.
• Act as the Hong Kong legal representative within the global legal team, providing local expertise.
• Facilitate communication between internal stakeholders and external legal advisors.

Risk Management & Advisory

• Identify potential legal risks in business operations and propose proactive solutions.
• Provide day-to-day legal advice to management and operational teams.
• Support strategic decision-making with clear legal guidance.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification.
• 5-7 years of legal experience, ideally within the shipping, logistics, or maritime industry.
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong shipping law and corporate governance.
• Experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with international legal teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Chinese or other Asian languages is an advantage
