Institutional Sales Director (Private Credit, Greater China)

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior sales team members to identify client opportunities, analyze the market landscape, and implement client and business development strategies across various investment approaches.
  • Enhance relationships with current clients and cultivate new connections with prospective investors. Regularly engage with both prospects and existing investors to discuss Barings' strategies and provide market updates.
  • Independently oversee the entire sales process, from initial contact through addressing requests for information (RFI & RFP), conducting investor due diligence, onboarding, and coordinating with internal teams.
  • Support the planning, management, and execution of fundraising roadshows alongside Portfolio Managers.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of strategic marketing initiatives aimed at elevating the firm's profile and generating new business opportunities.
  • Maintain an organized database of key clients, including relevant background and contact details, utilizing CRM systems.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience working with institutional investors in a comparable role, demonstrating a successful track record in institutional business development with clients in Greater China.
  • Strong technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of financial products and investment strategies are essential for this role.
  • A university degree, preferably in Business Administration or Finance; CFA certification is advantageous.
