Head of Finance, Chinese Bank (PWM)

  • Head of Financial and Regulatory Reporting Team
  • Private Banking industry experience preferred
  • Chinese language skills a must


One of Ambition's key banking clients is seeking an experienced finance professional to head their Finance function for their Hong Kong private banking business.

As a seasoned member of the Finance function, you will lead the team in providing financial and regulatory reporting, as well as capital and tax management for the business and the regulatory bodies in HK. You will ensure that financials are as per HKMA requirements, as well as ability to present insights to relevant senior management and decision makers for the Bank, and provide strategic financial advisory. You will also lead any business initiatives related to the Function, including process improvements, system enhancements and policy updates from the Bank and regulators. As a function lead, you will also require excellent stakeholder and team management skills.

To qualify, individuals must possess:

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related disciplines
  • Fully qualified CPA holder or other internationally recognised accounting qualifications
  • At least 15 years' relevant experience of which 10 years in a people management capacity with the banking industry in Hong Kong, highly preferred those with private banking industry experience
  • Excellent knowledge of HKMA regulations
  • Strong language skills in written and spoken Mandarin, as well as fluency in Cantonese and English
  • Continuous improvement mind-set with strong project management skills
