Group Financial Controller - Conglomerate

Our client is a well-known conglomerate in Hong Kong with a diverse and established business portfolio. They are now seeking a seasoned Group Financial Controller to lead their accounting operations and drive financial excellence across the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a large and complex accounting operation, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all financial processes and reporting functions.
  • Oversee monthly group consolidation and closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and management reports.
  • Manage the end-to-end month-end closing cycle, coordinating across business units to meet tight reporting deadlines and maintain data integrity.
  • Drive the group's financial planning and budgeting processes, aligning forecasts with strategic objectives and operational realities.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and performance insights to support executive decision-making and long-term business planning.
  • Strengthen internal controls and compliance frameworks to safeguard assets and ensure adherence to regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Collaborate closely with divisional finance teams to standardize processes and improve reporting consistency across the group.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Job requirements:

  • Qualified CPA with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in financial leadership roles, including substantial exposure to group consolidation and accounting operations.
  • Proven ability to lead large finance teams and manage complex month-end closing processes in a multi-entity environment.
  • Strong expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and performance analysis, with a strategic mindset and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Deep understanding of Hong Kong financial regulations and experience working in a regional or international corporate setting.
  • Proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin is required.
