Finance Director (Based in Shanghai)

About the company:

Our client is a leading European business with a growing presence in the Greater China area. They are a market leader in providing services to other companies across various business sectors. As part of their growth strategy, they are currently hiring a new Finance Director to manage and oversee the Greater China operations in Shanghai. The role will require some degree of traveling depending on border restrictions in the future and will potentially be required to internally rotate across Greater China region offices. It is a newly created role in a growing team and business vertical of the company.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and lead the Finance & Accounting team including staff members in the PRC as well as the shared service centre
• Ensure monthly financial and management reports are accurately presented in accordance with company guidelines and internal control policies
• Review consolidated accounts and provide commentary on businesses to the regional headquarters
• In charge of working with external auditors, ensure compliance with deadlines and completion of statutory audits
• Key driver of budgeting, forecasting and analysis process
• Ensure all compliance and regulations as met within the Greater China region
• Open to travel and be based in Shanghai

Key requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines with professional qualification
• CPA Qualified Accountant is a must, former experience in a sizable audit firm is preferred
• At least 10 years of working experience in Accounting related fields in a sizable organization and at least 3 years in supervisory or managerial level
• Strong Greater China experience, ability to manage stakeholders and to understand accounting implications from Greater China region
• Project management experience in internal control, accounting, or systems
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin)
