Finance Director

Our Client

A Hong Kong based company in the waste management and recycling industry is seeking an experienced Finance Director to oversee the Controllership and Compliance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all financial operations are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements and policies. The role will involve managing a team of professionals and working closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Controllership and Compliance function, including financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with financial and government regulatory requirements
• Ensure that all financial statements are accurate, complete, and in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis
• Work closely with HQ finance team as the first point of contact for financial information and project updates
• Manage a team of professionals, including setting performance goals, providing feedback, and identifying development opportunities
• Develop and implement strategies to improve Controllership and Compliance processes, including automation and standardization of processes
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to senior management
• Work with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party service providers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or equivalent certification required
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Controllership or Compliance function, with a focus on financial reporting and internal controls
• Strong knowledge of HKFRS, tax regulations in Hong Kong. Former exposure working with Government organisations would be advantageous
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Fluency in Cantonese, English and Mandarin to communicate with local and overseas stakeholders
• Proficiency in financial systems and tools, including ERP systems and Excel
