Director/Senior Manager, Business Development, Brokerage

Job description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of a new broker sales platform, covering proposition development, engagement models, and sales processes with broker partners.
  • Collaborate with the Channel Head to define and execute sales strategies for assigned broker accounts, ensuring alignment with overall channel objectives and company business plans.
  • Identify, onboard, and strengthen strategic partnerships with key broker firms to drive sustainable growth and expand distribution reach.
  • Initiate new business programs to differentiate the broker channel and capture emerging market opportunities.
  • Monitor sales performance, track KPIs, and regularly review assigned accounts to develop action plans for achieving targets.
  • Engage with brokers' senior management and frontline teams to promote new initiatives, unlock business potential, and boost activity levels.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of brokers' sales practices to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and product guidelines.
  • Work closely with internal teams (Product, Marketing, Operations, Underwriting, IT, Compliance) to build channel infrastructure and resolve issues impacting broker business.
  • Gather and share market insights, competitive activities, and best practices to refine channel strategies and inform product development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience in life insurance brokerage distribution, including proven expertise in developing new channels or platforms.
  • Strong relationships with key broker partners and a successful track record of driving production through intermediaries.
  • Highly self-motivated with an ownership mindset and ability to operate independently
  • Excellent organizational, strategic planning, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
