Deputy Head of Purchasing - Consumer Goods Manufacturer

As the Deputy Head of Purchasing, you will be leading a team and overseeing the purchasing function of the organization. You will manage supplier relationships, optimize procurement processes, and ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of components and materials. You'll play a key role in driving the global supply chain strategies, maintaining supply chain resilience and supporting product innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Head of Purchasing to develop and implement global sourcing strategies that align with corporate goals and market dynamics.
• Lead strategic supplier negotiations, contract management, and long-term partnership development.
• Oversee procurement operations, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of materials and components.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes, systems, and supplier performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, production, quality, and finance teams to support new product development and operational planning.
• Analyze global market trends, risks, and opportunities to inform sourcing decisions and mitigate supply chain disruptions.
• Mentor and develop procurement team members, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field;
• Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a manufacturing or electronics environment.
• Demonstrated success in managing global sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, and cost optimization programs.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement analytics tools; experience with digital procurement platforms is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Regular traveling is required.
• Proficient in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) is required.
