Assistant Financial Controller

About the company:

A globally leading shipping and logistics company with offices throughout APAC. The business has 4 people in the Finance and Accounting team, the regional headquarters is overseeing and the role will focus on reporting and analysis functions of the business.

The role:

• Manage a small regional APAC Finance & Accounting team to perform monthly financial reporting and closing duties
• Ensure all transactions and accounting information are managed in accordance to local policies and requirements
• Manage a team of 2-3 subordinates locally to perform operational accounting work
• Coordinate budgeting process, forecasting and detailed performance analysis
• Implement and maintain group internal controls, liaise with auditors
• Prepare tax computation and assist in tax planning
• System streamlining and process automation projects
• Lead and develop existing and newly hired subordinates

Requirements:

• Degree Holder or above in Accounting, CPA Qualified Accountant
• At least 8 years of relevant working experience with at least 2 years in a managerial position
• Former experience shipping or logistics industry preferred
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and ability to enhance internal controls
• Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
