Assistant Director - Tax

About the client:

Our client is a well-known international conglomerate with strong businesses in Hong Kong and PRC. They are looking for a tax Associate Director to assist with tax planning, compliance, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop effective, efficient, and defensible tax solutions to support business growth.
  • Analyse group tax structure and arrangements, increase tax efficiency.
  • Work closely with the group tax team and work closely with senior stakeholders in the PRC
  • Devise and implement tax policies and maintain awareness of new tax policies, rules and practices
  • Assist in tax audits, disputes, and inquiries in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead tax projects, liaise with internal and external key stakeholders to drive effective progress
  • Undertake ad hoc projects

Requirements & Skills:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related disciplines
  • 15 years or more experience in advisory firm or in house experience preferred.
  • Experience with corporate tax at a local and international level
  • Strong awareness with various tax jurisdictions with focus in Hong Kong, PRC and other Asia pacific countries
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive and hands-on approach to work, ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and flexible approach to work are essential.
