APAC Supply Chain Manager, Ocean Freight - MNC Start-up

Our client is one of the fastest-growing start-ups with a global presence. The company has an aggressive business expansion in the APAC market, with Hong Kong as a regional hub. They are currently looking for a Supply Chain Manager, Ocean Freight, to join as a launch team key member in Asia to expand internationally.

Based in Hong Kong, you will be responsible for the partner relationship management for Origin Agents across all origin countries. As a Supply Chain Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Designing, implementing and driving ocean freight operations strategy and execution
• Measuring and monitoring operational performance and efficiency via systematic and manually developed solutions
• Planning and implementing operating models that will drive the future improvements of operation
• Providing direct input into the development, implementation and reporting of partner provider KPI/ metrics to monitor all aspects of the transportation process
• Leading strategic initiatives for optimizing origin side operations and reducing cost
• Developing solid relationships with local offices of carriers and origin agents

To qualify, individuals must possess:

• Degree and have 6+ years experience in Ocean Freight-industry (Ocean Carriers/ freight forwarding) at the regional or global level
• Experience in managing daily operations in a matrix environment and managing cross-functional projects
• Experience in leading process improvement initiatives, collaborating with multiple stakeholders globally and building tools & visibility solutions
• Solid experience in stakeholder management in an international, fast-paced and data-driven environment
• Outstanding negotiation, communication and presentation skills
• Excellent analytical, business acumen and interpersonal skills with an entrepreneurial mindset
• Excellent command of written & spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin is a MUST
