Technical Lead (Data), Insurance, up to 60k

What You'll Be Doing:

• Spearhead the architecture and evolution of enterprise-grade data platforms, including lakes, warehouses, and real-time processing systems.
• Translate complex business needs into robust data capabilities aligned with governance and strategic goals.
• Assess and recommend cutting-edge cloud tools for data ingestion, storage, processing, and orchestration.
• Design platforms with embedded security, privacy, and compliance features.
• Ensure the platform is resilient, scalable, and optimized for growing data demands.
• Lead the development of data pipelines and transformation logic from concept to deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and architecture teams to overcome technical challenges.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Implement observability frameworks to monitor performance, cost, and system health.
• Act as the bridge between data engineering, analytics, infrastructure, and business teams.
• Oversee platform operations, including health checks, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Drive root cause analysis and resolution of platform issues.
• Define support processes, escalation paths, and SLAs.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including runbooks and configuration records.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across integrated systems.
• Monitor and maintain integration processes and environments.

What We're Looking For:

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
• At least 6 years of hands-on experience in integration design and deployment, ideally within financial services.
• Proven expertise in building scalable cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Strong background in data modeling and governance.
• Familiarity with tools like Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• Demonstrated leadership in end-to-end platform delivery.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and engaging with business stakeholders.
• Skilled in automated deployments using Terraform and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of observability tools and frameworks.
