Tax & Financial Governance Manager

The Company

Our client is a listed German leading supplier of polymers. They produce different material solution for industrial and engineering use. They are looking for a Tax & Financial Governance Manager to handle all the tax advisory and tax related matters in the in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia. This role will report to a Head of Taxes based in PRC.

Responsibilities:

1 ) Responsible for all tax advisory and tax related matter for HK, SG and MY:

  • Calculate the corporate income tax provision, deferred tax income and expenses
  • Calculate the Singapore Goods and Services Tax and file to Singapore government, to work out with different parties on GST refund
  • Handle queries from the tax authority or government agencies
  • Coordinate with external tax consultants for computation and returns of local and Taiwan office
  • Ensure tax filling and payment are summited on time
  • Perform tax forecast

2)Enforcing financial governance role so as to ensure compliance with internal guidelines and external regulations:

  • Liaise with auditors to provide clarification/business background and to seek recommendation and 3rd-party opinion
  • Formulate intra-company charging model in SG and MY branches, ensure it caters for business needs and complies with local tax regulations
  • Manage the Corporate Credit Card program coordinate with bank to review and adjust corporate credit card limit to employees
  • Prepare corporate credit card spending summary to senior management
  • Review and recommend contracts from financial point of view and give advice to contribute to improving profitability
  • Prepare and monitor financial indicators, give early alerts and highlights to management team to improve operating performance and profitability
  • Handle cost reimbursement process for indent business in APAC, identifying drivers of deviation and challenging the counter-parties (agent entities in other APAC countries)
  • Review legal entity financial-related guideline and give recommendation for potential adjustment (e.g. Approval-limit)

3)Act as a Central point to deal with financial data handling for all departments (e.g. accrual, cost center creation, value-flow change, corporate credit-card, etc.)

  • Manage the accurate and timely preparation of monthly accruals and follow up on accrual reversal
  • Manage the cost reposting in WPA system for all cost centers, advising cost center owners with regard to value-flow topics (e.g. internal order, secondary cost allocation, etc.)
  • Manage and monitor the cost center (and CC hierarchy) creation and adjustment for all departments to ensure proper reflection of company global standards
  • Calculate allocation keys for cost centers and ensure the allocation methods comply to Value-flow Catalogue

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Economics or Business Studies
  • Qualified accountant or certified tax adviser, with minimum 5 year of solid tax related working experience
  • Solid understanding of tax jurisdictions e.g. Singapore, Malaysia
  • Good commend in spoken and written English and Mandarin
  • Independent, proactive, strong communication and stakeholder management skill
  • Proficient in computer skills in MS Office applications, SAP experience will be a plus
