Senior UI/UX Designer - Regional Office

Serve as an advocate for AIA Vitality's digital customers and users by communicating information in the best way possible and shaping AIA's digital experience with UX/UI design solutions

Role Responsibilities

Design (75%)

  • Collect/understand/negotiate requirements, constraints (time/technology), and expectations, and independently manage the creation of UX/UI solutions for assigned projects
  • Production of key design artefacts ranging from initial sketches through to low fi digital wires, prototypes, high fi wires, user flows, IA maps etc.
  • Contribution to Group Digital Design System (component library with guidelines), and help maintain its component quality at the best-in-class
  • Collaborate with Design research and Content design members on the end to end design process
  • Collaborate with design team members across individual BU
  • Stay informed and in tune with the latest developments within UX methodologies, best practices, trends etc., and share with the team
  • Work with local BUs to balance the governance and autonomy in creating new components and design solutions
  • Review BU UX solutions and suggest improvements
  • Respond to and shape design briefs in support of BU requirements and needs

Project management (25%)

  • Plan design activities for the assigned project, assign tasks to supporting designers, and agree with the stakeholders for the asset delivery schedule with minimal supervision
  • Negotiate with stakeholders and steer the projects to the right direction from UX perspectives while meeting requirements
  • Manage all the UX activities for the assigned projects while meeting the tight deadline and expectations from stakeholders with minimal supervision
  • Regularly update stakeholders / PM with the progress of planned UX activities

Team support (5%)

  • Support other designers on the assigned projects to meet agreed timelines with quality
  • Review and critique solutions produced by designers assigned to the same projects to make sure that the UX solutions meet the Group standards
  • Constantly identify areas of improvement in our work process, including the process between Group and local BUs, and suggest executable actions

Job Requirements

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in related fields or equivalent experiences
  • 5+ years of relevant experiences
  • Track records of creating truly human centered, delightful customer experiences for large corporations (could be a client)
  • Desirable: Experience in a startup environment/demonstration of an ability to build a team/business from the ground up

Knowledge and Skills

  • Have the highest standards in building the best-in-class Design
  • Hands-on design skills with the industry standards tools
  • Updated with the latest UX trends, best practices, methodologies, and tools
  • Must have hands-on knowledge of the end-to-end development process for a large digital products.
  • Superior verbal and written presentation skills to communicate the ideas in a clear and concise manner to designers, technologists, project managers and executives
  • Ability to think strategically to produce maximum ROI for Group


  • Must be goal driven and have an ability to find ways to reach the set goals
  • Must be organized, able to work with minimal supervision, flexible to switch rapidly between different projects and manage them in a timely manner
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to accept tough challenges with a positive attitude
  • Must be persistent and proactively make necessary actions to achieve goals
  • Have a good balance between details and a big picture
  • Must be interested in digital transformation of a traditional company
  • Multilingual capability is a plus
  • Experience within Insurance/financial/Health domains is a plus
