Production Control Manager (Mainframe)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Control Engineer to join our bank's technology team. The Production Control Engineer will play a critical role in the successful deployment and management of bank-wide applications, ensuring efficient and smooth operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in z/OS, AS400, Open Platforms, and Job Scheduling Tools such as BMC Control-M and IBM TWS. The role requires hands-on experience in application deployment, vendor management, and project follow-up.

Responsibilities:

• Application Deployment: Coordinate and execute the deployment of bank-wide applications, ensuring timely and accurate implementation according to established procedures and guidelines.
• Job Scheduling and Control: Utilize Job Scheduling Tools such as BMC Control-M and IBM TWS to monitor, schedule, and control batch processing jobs across various platforms, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.
• Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors to ensure smooth integration of their solutions into the bank's infrastructure. Coordinate with vendors to address any issues, track progress, and ensure adherence to project timelines.
• Production Support: Provide technical expertise and support to troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to application deployment, job scheduling, and other related areas.
• Automation and Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within the production control environment. Propose and implement enhancements to streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and improve efficiency.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to production control processes, configurations, and procedures. Generate reports and performance metrics as required.
• Project Follow-up: Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of projects. Track project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies, and communicate status updates to relevant parties.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Adhere to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to production control. Identify and mitigate potential risks and ensure adherence to security and compliance standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Production Control Engineer or similar role in the banking or financial services industry.
• Strong knowledge of z/OS, AS400, Open Platforms, and their associated technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Job Scheduling Tools such as BMC Control-M and IBM TWS.
• Solid understanding of batch processing and scheduling concepts.
• Familiarity with ITIL principles and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
