International Ocean Freight, Senior Manager - US-listed eCom

Our client is one of the biggest E-commerce company headquartered in the US. They've business partnership with 1000+ suppliers and business presence across the US, UK and EU. The company has an aggressive business expansion in the APAC market with Hong Kong as a regional hub, and it's one of the fast-growing e-tailers in its sector. They are currently looking for an Senior Ocean Freight Manager to join as a launch team key member in Asia to expand internationally.

Based in Hong Kong, you will be responsible for the partner relationship management for Origin Agents across all origin countries. As a Senior Ocean Freight Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Coaching and leading a small team to design, implement and drive ocean freight operations strategy and execution
• Measuring and monitoring operational performance and efficiency via systematic and manually developed solutions
• Planning and implementing operating models that will drive the future improvements of operation
• Providing direct input into the development, implementation and reporting of partner provider KPI/ metrics to monitor all aspects of the transportation process
• Leading strategic initiatives for optimizing origin side operations and reducing cost
• Driving the transition to new vendors as part of the procurement process
• Developing solid relationships with local offices of carriers and origin agents
• Understanding local custom regulations and local laws impacting our supply chain design
• Closely partnering with internal stakeholders and streamlining operations and interactions between origin agents and CFS, and origin agents and truckers

To qualify, individuals must possess:

• Degree and have 12+ years experience in Ocean Freight-industry (Ocean Carriers/ freight forwarding) at the regional or global level
• Experience in leading a small team, managing daily operations in a matrix environment and managing cross-functional projects
• Experience in leading process improvement initiatives, collaborating with multiple stakeholders globally and building tools & visibility solutions
• Solid experience in senior stakeholder management in an international, fast-paced and data-driven environment
• Outstanding negotiation, communication and presentation skills
• Excellent analytical, business acumen and interpersonal skills with an entrepreneurial mindset
• Excellent command of written & spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin is a MUST
