Head of Trading - Retail

About the Role:

• Design and implement captivating product range strategies that elevate brand positioning and ignite new product initiatives, fueling business growth and ensuring market relevance.
• Identify emerging market opportunities and consumer trends to expand high-margin, cutting-edge product categories.
• Oversee the entire buying journey, from sourcing and supplier selection to price negotiations and margin optimization.
• Cultivate and nurture robust relationships with suppliers to secure competitive trading terms. Leverage exceptional negotiation skills to ensure sustainable profitability while developing innovative programs that enhance supplier funding and business performance.
• Formulate and execute agile pricing strategies that align with market dynamics and business objectives, driving growth in Online and Offline channels.
• Lead the annual budgeting and business planning processes, while managing and developing a high-performing trading team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement that inspires greatness.
• Promote constructive collaboration across departments to ensure seamless communication and alignment, driving shared business goals and enhancing operational efficiency.
• Safeguard company's position as a market leader by proactively monitoring competitor activities, adapting to industry shifts, and consistently delivering exceptional value to customers.

About the Candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in retail management or a related business discipline.
• Over 10 years in a senior merchandising role within the retail industry.
• Exceptional ability to manage, inspire, and cultivate a high-performing team.
• Proficient in making informed decisions based on data, with a keen ability to analyze market trends and consumer insights.
• Skilled negotiator with the business acumen to effectively manage supplier relationships.
