Equity IT System Developer & Business Analyst

Job Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible for developing HK's in-house front and middle office systems.

  1. To develop in-house systems, plan and perform unit/functional/integration tests, according to provided functional requirement.
  2. To create necessary development documents, test plan and test results.
  3. To perform analysis, development, testing and implementation of developed system.
  4. Working with the first level support team to provide second line support, and work closely with other internal IT teams (e.g. DBA, Infrastructure) to analyze and follow up on all related technical issues, report findings to managers or team leader.
  5. Conduct feasibility studies and impact analysis on possible system solutions and propose clear choices for business consideration.
  6. Early shift support may be required.

Essential Job Functions

  • Key application developer for front-office Fidessa / Ullink trading application, Bloomberg/Reuters instrument static data system, database (e.g. SQL Server), SSIS and Linux job development and Excel tools.
  • Technical supervisor and key contact for the system listed above and providing solution for the issues.

Additional Job Functions

  • Support Excel tools for equity middle-office department and research department.
  • Middle Office System (DMOS) development and interface design for back-office system.
  • Automation of deployment and release procedure.
  • Need to work with regional offices for regional IT changes.

Qualifications and Requirements

  1. University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  2. Solid business knowledge in Equity trading and middle/back-office
  3. Must have knowledge, skill and experiences on C#/Java, Linux, Shell scripting, Excel VBA, SQL.
  4. Nice to have these knowledge, skill and experiences on SSIS, Python, Omgeo CTM, AWS Cloud, Gloss, Ullink and Fidessa.
  5. Knowledge of object-oriented programming.
  6. At least 3 years working experience in Investment Banking or Securities Trading industry with relevant exposure to development and support of equities trading or middle/back-office applications.
  7. Self starter and multi-tasking, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, solution oriented with proven results.
  8. Clear and confident communication skill - both verbal and written in English/Chinese.
  9. Good team player and can work independently with minimal guidance.
