(Contract) Assistant Manager, Store Development

Job description

About the Role:

  • Develop store planning strategies in line with business goals, brand image, and expansion plans.
  • Identify new store opportunities through market research and competitor analysis.
  • Work with internal teams to create store concepts, layouts, and formats that improve sales and customer experience.
  • Manage store projects from planning to opening, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to required standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, designers, contractors, and vendors throughout the project.
  • Review store layouts, fixture plans, and material selections to ensure functionality and brand consistency.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and quality.
  • Optimize store space, customer flow, and back-of-house areas for operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, accessibility, building, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage project budgets, control costs, and support vendor negotiations.
  • Communicate project updates and work closely with internal teams, landlords, and external partners.
  • Conduct post-opening reviews and apply improvements to future projects.

About the Candidate:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; prior exposure to the luxury retail industry is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with confidence.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent planning, organization, and coordination skills.
  • Solid knowledge of construction regulations, fit-out and renovation projects, quantity surveying analysis, and sustainability requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of compliance processes and administrative procedures.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and SketchUp.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • A collaborative and supportive team player with a positive, hands-on attitude.
