Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the review, interpretation, and communication of existing and proposed laws and regulations.
- Provide expert guidance and advice to business partners on strategies to mitigate compliance risks.
- Develop and implement business strategies that minimize risk and ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Duties
- Advise business partners, including senior leadership, on compliance programs and applicable regulatory requirements, ensuring they stay informed about changes that may impact their operations.
- Monitor and communicate updates on compliance-related laws, rules, and standards.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for compliance inquiries and contribute to the development of compliance programs.
- Assist in creating written policies, procedures, and guidance documents-such as compliance manuals, codes of conduct, and practice guidelines-to support proper implementation of compliance standards.
- Support senior management in designing compliance programs and identifying employees who require mandatory training.
- Assess, document, and measure compliance risks to strengthen risk assessments and evaluate the adequacy of company compliance practices.
- Identify high-risk situations and advise management on policies and procedures to mitigate potential compliance issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams, regulators, and auditors on regulatory matters.
- Operate independently with deep expertise in compliance risk management.
- Act as a subject matter expert on regulatory compliance within the organization.
- Mentor junior team members and review their work as needed.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and alignment with company objectives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, gained through formal education and practical experience.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills to interpret regulations, advise stakeholders, and present complex information clearly.
Experience
- 5-7+ years of experience in compliance or risk management, or equivalent related experience.
