Business Analyst - Card Operations / Settlement

Job description

Our client, a leading international bank, is looking for a Business Analyst to support card operations and settlements.

This role is suitable for both junior candidates (1-3 years) and experienced BA/Ops candidates with strong exposure to settlement, reconciliation, card products or operational process improvement.

You will work closely with card operations, business users, IT and vendors to ensure smooth daily operations and to support system enhancement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily card operations including settlement, reconciliation, exception handling and end-of-day checks.
  • Monitor card transactions, identify irregularities and follow up on breaks to ensure timely settlement.
  • Work with business and IT teams to gather, analyse and document requirements for operational enhancements or fixes.
  • Participate in UAT: prepare test cases, execute tests, log defects and maintain documentation.
  • Draft process flows and workflow documentation (required for senior role).
  • Handle inbound customer enquiries professionally to ensure a positive service experience.
  • Prepare operations reports and analysis for internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external partners and vendors for issue resolution.
  • Support shift duties, weekend or public holiday work depending on operational needs.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years' experience in banking operations, business analysis or customer service.
  • Strong numeracy, preferably with accounting/finance background.
  • Experience in settlement or reconciliation highly preferred.
  • Exposure to card operations, clearing, payments or account opening is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills; proactive and detail-minded.
  • Hands-on UAT experience and ability to write process flows required for senior role.
  • Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas).
  • Good command of English and Cantonese; Putonghua is an advantage.
  • Immediate or short-notice availability highly preferred.
