Assistant Manager (PE Fund, Fund Accounting)

- You will be responsible for accounting and fund administration for venture capital funds that invest in different regions.
- Your tasks will include producing quarterly investor reports, General Partner board reports, and annual financial statements for the fund.
- It will be essential to review Limited Partnership Agreements to grasp their accounting and reporting implications.
- You will also prepare calculations for carried interest.
- Additionally, you will create distribution and call notices along with the necessary calculations.
- Collaboration with venture capital teams, third-party fund administrators, Corporate Treasury, legal, and tax departments is crucial to ensure proper investment transaction processing and cash management.
- You will assist with various group controlling activities and ad-hoc projects as needed.
- Reviewing, interpreting, and implementing new US GAAP accounting standards will be part of your role, including preparing reports to analyze and document the accounting treatment for different investments under US GAAP.
- Supporting group audits and local fund audits will involve liaising with and providing assistance to external auditors.
- You will help in developing and maintaining controls, systems, and processes to ensure accurate and timely accounting and management reporting.
- Regular reports for senior management and the Board will need to be prepared by you.
- Supporting tax compliance requirements, including K1, PFIC, and CFC, will also be part of your responsibilities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- The ideal candidate will hold an ACA, CA, or an equivalent accounting designation, with at least three years of post-qualification experience.
- Practical experience with investment companies and complex partnership structures is preferred, particularly within US GAAP.
- You should have experience in preparing financial statements, ideally under US GAAP.
- Understanding and interpreting legal agreements is essential for this role.
- Experience in investment performance calculation and presentation, including attribution analysis, is desirable.
- Familiarity with working in an international multi-currency environment is a plus.
- A proactive approach, strong communication skills regarding accounting issues, attention to detail, and a commitment to high standards are necessary.
- You should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working efficiently under deadlines and pressure, with high energy and enthusiasm.
- Being mature, a team player, and flexible in adapting to changes will be important attributes
