Responsibilities:
Lead in-depth investigations into transactions or activities flagged by monitoring systems or reported internally as potentially suspicious.
Examine complex financial data, customer behavior, and account activity to detect signs of money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, or other financial crimes.
Draft and submit detailed Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) or Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the appropriate financial intelligence units or regulatory authorities.
Clearly and accurately document investigation outcomes in line with internal procedures and regulatory standards.
Work closely with teams across Compliance, Legal, Business Units, and other investigative functions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AML/CFT regulations, emerging typologies, and industry best practices.
Contribute to quality assurance efforts and provide feedback to improve transaction monitoring systems and processes.
Address inquiries from law enforcement and respond to regulatory requests as needed.
Requirements:
2 to 5+ years of experience in AML investigations, financial crime compliance, or risk management within the financial services sector. Exposure to correspondent banking, trade finance, or private banking is advantageous.
Hands-on experience with AML monitoring tools (e.g., Actimize, Mantas).
Solid understanding of AML regulations and compliance frameworks.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify meaningful patterns.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques is a plus.
