1. How did you first hear about the Ambition Academy

I saw the job ad promoting the Academy on jobsDB. The post said that this program provided training for people with no/limited recruitment background. Thus, I went to have a look at the Ambition website and was immediately attracted to the academy as the training looked comprehensive which suited people like me without any recruitment experience whatsoever.

2. Can you tell me about your experience at the Academy? What did you learn?

It was great as they teach you recruitment 101 – from candidate/client management, business development, help you understand the importance of quality service, the power of personal branding, learning about real-life scenarios from senior management and also how to use the internal database system. You will have a pretty good overview of what recruitment is about.

3. How did the Academy prepare you for your current role?

The academy was a solid training programme that equipped me with practical tools that I needed to kick start my recruitment career. The scenarios analysis and role-playing helped to tackle the areas that I need improving. Through demonstrating the “model answer” by the trainers, I gained a clear understanding of what needed to be done in the role.

4. What did you enjoy the most about the Academy program?

I thoroughly enjoyed the role-playing aspect of the training as it was fun and interactive. It really put things into perspective for me and as a result, I was able to apply what I learned.

5. Who would you recommend the Academy to?

I would recommend it to fresh graduates or those with some recruitment or sales background. This program would be suitable for those who enjoy a challenge and are hungry for success would benefit most from the Academy.

6. What advice would you give to those thinking about joining the Academy?

Be prepared to step out of your comfort zone, do not be afraid to ask questions (there are no “stupid” questions!), enjoy and participate in order to get the most out of the academy!
