The Emerging Role of Finance as a Business Partner

Ambition Hong Kong recently held its very first Finance & Accounting Boardroom series event for the year. We were honoured to have Lincoln Cheng, Vice President & CFO, Asia Pacific at VF Corporation to speak at our event as a guest speaker on the topic of ‘The Emerging Role of Finance as a Business Partner’.

Lincoln shared his past experiences and challenges with the audience who were senior finance leaders in Hong Kong. It was a great interactive session with lots of discussion around four key takeaway points:

• Finance leaders need to have deeper understanding of their businesses

• Finance plays an integral role in the company’s operations, not just providing accurate financial information, but also acts as a critical and value adding function

• How the finance strategy supports the business goals

• Assessing how finance does impact the business decisions and what it means for different departments from a financial perspective
