Data Scientist, Insurance Group - 60-75k

Job description

In this role, you'll apply your analytical expertise and machine learning skills to drive strategic decisions, streamline processes, and elevate customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Insights: Utilize advanced statistical methods to explore large datasets, uncover trends, and create predictive models that tackle business challenges, delivering actionable insights.

  • Machine Learning Development: Design and implement machine learning algorithms to enhance agent performance and optimize policy offerings. Familiarity with techniques such as decision trees, SVM, clustering, and deep learning is essential.

  • Data Engineering: Ensure the integrity of our data by cleaning and processing extensive datasets from various sources.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with agency leaders, product managers, and IT teams to translate business needs into effective data science solutions.

  • Effective Communication: Craft engaging presentations to share insights with non-technical stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics). PhD candidates are encouraged to apply.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in Python and SQL.
    • Experience with machine learning libraries like Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
    • Strong statistical analysis and modeling expertise.
    • Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Databricks).
    • Proficient in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Experience: At least 5 years as a Data Scientist, ideally within the insurance sector, with a proven history of deploying machine learning models in live environments.
