Data Scientist, Insurance, 60k

Job duties

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced AI/ML models to support in-app marketing initiatives, including recommender systems, to drive user engagement and enhance personalized experiences for app users
• Perform exploratory data analysis analyzedata, formulate hypotheses, conduct statistical tests, build simple statistical models, and create visualization/developing data stories.
• Responsible for the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of AI/ML models, ensuring optimal performance and robust monitoring for data-driven decision making
• Responsible for data analysis and building ETL to support model training and deployment (with PII data when necessary)
• Responsible for creating recommendation engines & segmentations which can be rule-based to start with, which later convert to AI-based with tools like AWS Sagemaker, Python, Scala-Spark

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in developing and deploying ML applications
• Excellent understanding of SQL data storage structures and storage/query optimizations.
• Knowledge of cloud-based storage and computing platforms, preferably in AWS
• Familiar with Amazon tools EMR, QuickSight, SageMaker, Glue, Athena, Amazon personalize, My SQL, Dynamo DB etc.
• Familiar with a broader range of tools to assist across the AI development lifecycle: Jupyter, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, MLFlow, Iguazio, Fiddler, IBM-360, MS Fair toolkit, Google PAIR, Docker
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum Methodology
• Good communication skills, with strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills
• Knowledge of insurance or marketing domain is a plus point
