Regional Project Manager - Corporate Ledger System
This contract role is pivotal in leading a regional project to consolidate and migrate the corporate ledger systems of our Hong Kong and Singapore offices to a cloud-based SaaS platform. With the inception and initiation phases nearing completion, the successful candidate will take full ownership of the implementation phase, driving the project from kick-off through to closure.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and align with project objectives, scope, timeline, budget, approach, and resource requirements.
- Lead the end-to-end upgrade and migration of the corporate ledger systems in HK and SG offices to the chosen SaaS platform.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including Finance, IT, and vendor project teams in both locations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate governance, data security, and IT policies.
- Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Manage project issues, including reporting, prioritization, escalation, and resolution.
- Conduct regular stakeholder meetings and communications to report on milestones, budget, risks, and issues.
- Chair the Project Steering Committee to ensure strategic alignment, timely decision-making, and executive stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee data migration processes to ensure accuracy and minimal business disruption.
- Manage the planning, execution, reporting, and sign-off of User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Define and enforce change control processes to manage scope, time, and budget effectively.
- Lead operational readiness activities, including user training, documentation, IT support preparation, system go-live, and post-implementation support.
Qualification & Experience
- Certification in recognized project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Proven experience in leading regional or multi-country IT and finance transformation projects.
- Prior success in implementing corporate ledger systems (e.g. SunSystems) within financial institutions is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills in managing diverse project teams, including business SMEs, IT specialists, and solution vendors.
- Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to produce and present project plans, status reports, budget reports, RAID logs, and other project governance materials.
- Proficient in communicating project-related matters to senior stakeholders.
- Skilled in collaborating with SMEs across various domains to resolve project issues.
- Skilled in vendor management.
- General knowledge of cloud technology and vendor's commercial practice.
- Fluent in English and Cantonese.
- Mature, assertive, and result oriented.
