Chief of Staff (Conglomerate)

Position Overview

The Chief of Staff will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the Group Executive and senior leadership team. This role is pivotal in driving enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment across diverse business units, and enabling effective decision-making at the highest level. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of management consulting rigor and in-house strategy execution experience, with the ability to translate complex ideas into actionable outcomes.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of corporate strategy, including market analysis, competitive positioning, and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Act as a thought partner to the CEO, providing insights, recommendations, and structured problem-solving support.
  • Coordinate across business units to ensure strategic priorities are cascaded and executed effectively.
  • Prepare materials for board meetings, investor updates, and key stakeholder communications.
  • Drive efficiency in executive decision-making processes, ensuring timely follow-through on strategic initiatives.
  • Lead high-impact projects that require cross-business collaboration, often in areas of innovation, transformation, or new market entry.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and investments that align with the conglomerate's long-term vision.
  • Assess strategic risks across industries and geographies, and develop mitigation frameworks to safeguard enterprise value.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to build organizational capabilities that support strategic priorities, including leadership pipelines and functional excellence.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum 8-12 years at a top-tier management consulting firm (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain) with in-house strategy experiences
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record in corporate strategy or transformation roles within large, complex organizations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and deliver results under pressure.
  • Experience working across multiple geographies or industries, with an ability to navigate diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
  • Proven ability to lead transformation programs, drive adoption of new initiatives, and manage organizational change effectively.
  • Strong proficiency in leveraging data analytics, financial modeling, and digital tools to inform strategy and measure impact.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; fluent in English, Cantonese & Mandarin.
