Sourcing Manager

Our client is a EU buying office with operation across the globe. Operating across multiple international markets, the Hong Kong office serves as a key sourcing and product development hub for Asia and they now look for a young and energetic sourcing professional to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end‑to‑end sourcing and product development for cookware items.
  • Manage long‑term strategic suppliers in China, ensuring quality, reliability, and timely execution
  • Drive product customization based on business needs, guiding suppliers through design, sampling, testing, and approvals
  • Coordinate cookware products with high production volumes
  • Ensure all items meet required safety, compliance, and quality standards; resolve QC issues with suppliers
  • Influence and persuade factories to support project timelines, product modifications, and customization requirements
  • Oversee project milestones from concept to mass production, maintaining full visibility through internal systems
  • Collaborate closely with merchandising, design, QA/QC, and global retail teams to achieve alignment on specifications and deliverables
  • Maintain strong, stable supplier partnerships while continuously improving product performance and execution
  • Prepare and present program and vendor updates in team meetings
  • Identify risks and provide proactive solutions to avoid production or delivery delays
  • Support the Head of Sourcing on category insights, cost scenarios, and program feasibility analysis

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 10-15 years of sourcing or merchandising experience, ideally in cookware/ kitchenware/ Tableware.
  • Strong project management capability, able to handle multiple programs simultaneously
  • Hands‑on experience working with China‑based vendors and manufacturers
  • Comfortable communicating directly with factories and driving them to meet customization and quality expectations
  • Confident communicator - able to voice out issues, influence suppliers, and present in meetings
  • Detail‑oriented with strong ownership and accountability
  • Proactive, energetic, and collaborative; able to work effectively with multicultural teams
  • Very fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
  • Candidates with a trade/merchandising/buying office background preferred
