Senior Manager / Assistant Director, Finance

We are partnering with a highly respected public sector organization to hire a Senior Manager / Assistant Director, Finance for their growing team. This critical leadership opportunity uniquely blends daily accounting oversight with large-scale transformation initiatives. Driving core system upgrades and process reengineering projects will be essential to future-proof the financial infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end daily financial operations encompassing general ledger, payables, receivables, and treasury management.
• Lead the strategic review of current workflows to identify automation opportunities and eliminate manual bottlenecks.
• Act as the primary project driver for upcoming implementations and cloud-based digitalization initiatives.
• Reengineer core accounting processes to strengthen internal controls and mitigate organizational risk.
• Mentor a sizable team of accounting professionals to ensure accurate month-end and year-end closing.
• Manage external audits, statutory reporting, and tax compliance strictly adhering to public sector governance.
• Partner cross-functionally with IT and procurement departments to execute seamless system integrations.

Requirements:

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Hold a recognized professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 12 years of progressive financial management experience with proven supervisory capabilities.
• Bring a strong, hands-on track record of successfully guiding finance system upgrades and business process transformations.
• Showcase previous exposure to large-scale corporate environments, statutory bodies, or the public sector.
• Exhibit excellent stakeholder management skills to navigate complex organizational structures and successfully manage change.
• Communicate fluently in both written and spoken English and Cantonese at a professional business level.
