Senior Infrastructure and System Administrator

Job Responsibilities

  • Take charge of the planning, delivery and ongoing enhancement of enterprise infrastructure across multiple data‑centre environments
  • Act as the highest‑level technical specialist for core infrastructure components including compute platforms, virtualization, storage, identity services and resiliency solutions
  • Establish and maintain infrastructure blueprints, technical guidelines and long‑term platform direction, with a focus on reliability, security and future growth
  • Deliver hands‑on system management and serve as the key escalation point during critical outages and complex technical challenges
  • Oversee resource forecasting, system optimisation, patch management and end‑of‑life activities for infrastructure platforms
  • Design, implement and regularly validate data protection and business continuity capabilities
  • Partner closely with cybersecurity, application teams and business stakeholders to ensure infrastructure solutions meet operational and commercial needs
  • Champion the adoption of automation tools, scripting and code‑driven infrastructure practices to improve consistency and efficiency
  • Provide technical leadership and coaching to senior administrators, acting as the final point of escalation when required
  • Contribute to hybrid environments and future technology initiatives, including cloud services or AI‑related platforms, where relevant

Job Requirement

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent hands‑on experience
  • Extensive experience in infrastructure or system engineering, including senior‑level responsibilities
  • Strong hands‑on knowledge of Windows/Linux, virtualization, storage, backup and core identity services
  • Solid understanding of enterprise networking, security hardening and high‑availability environments
  • Proven experience handling major incidents and complex technical issues
  • Skilled in automation and scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Python, Bash)
  • Experience supporting enterprise or multi‑location environments
  • Exposure to cloud, hybrid infrastructure, IaC or AI platforms is an advantage
  • Strong technical leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Relevant professional certifications are a plus
