Merchandising Manager, Knitwear

our client is a well‑established garment manufacturer with strong production capabilities and long‑term partnerships with international apparel brands. The merchandising team plays a critical role in driving business growth while ensuring smooth execution from development through bulk production.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive business growth by developing new customer opportunities and expanding existing accounts
  • Secure knitwear orders in line with sales targets, production capacity, and factory planning
  • Lead price quotation, costing analysis, and commercial negotiation with customers
  • Manage, coach, and develop a merchandising team of 8-10 members to ensure strong execution and customer service
  • Coordinate closely with Product Development and Procurement teams on fabric, yarn, trims, and accessories sourcing
  • Act as the key interface between buyers and production teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth workflow
  • Oversee sample development, order follow‑up, quality control, and delivery scheduling
  • Monitor order progress, identify risks early, and drive timely solutions
  • Review and validate buyer and supplier claims related to quality, pricing, or delivery
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Travel as required to support customer meetings, factories, and business development activities

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Sales, Merchandising, Fashion, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in garment merchandising, with strong knitwear exposure
  • Solid technical knowledge of fabric construction, yarns, and knitwear product development
  • Proven experience managing and leading a sizeable merchandising team
  • Strong commercial sense with hands‑on experience in pricing and negotiation
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with buyers, suppliers, and factories
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
  • Proactive, driven, and energetic leadership style
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Mandarin
  • Occusionnal travel to SEA countries once in every 1-2 months is required
