We are assisting a US listed pharmaceutical company to look for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Manager. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with US GAAP, and smooth collaboration with external auditors. The Finance Manager will handle month-end closing, budgeting, and financial reporting, while also supporting ad hoc tasks and ongoing projects.

Position Responsibilities

• Report to the Financial Controller and work closely with senior management
• Month-End Closing: Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements; Ensure timely and accurate closing in compliance with US GAAP.
• Budgeting & Financial Reporting: Assist in preparation of budgets, forecasts, and management reports; Provide financial insights to support decision-making.
• Ad Hoc & Compliance Tasks: Support company registry, tax filings, and audit requirements; Collaborate with external auditors and ensure SOX compliance.
• Manage routine accounting work and daily payments.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure internal controls are followed.
• Maintain and enhance internal control processes to ensure compliance with SOX and company policies.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
• Contribute to ongoing finance-related projects nearing completion.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• AICPA qualification is essential.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant finance/accounting experience
• Strong expertise in US GAAP and experience with external audit collaboration.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements.
• Solid understanding of double-entry accounting.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive with strong problem-solving skills.
• Flexible and adaptable to handle ad hoc tasks and routine processes.
• Positive attitude and ability to work independently in a lean team.
• Willingness to occasionally join night-time calls with US counterparts.
• Fluency in English & Cantonese is essential
