Finance Manager/ Senior Accountant (IFRS), Insurance 50k
Our Client is one of the well-established Insurance Companies who is now looking for a Senior Officer/ Manager to join their Finance Team
Perform monthly investment accounting reconciliations, investigation and ensure sufficient controls are in place to produce accurate investment asset information.
Perform monthly and quarterly analytical review of the investment performance including comparisons and commentary to market movements.
Assist to develop appropriate expectations of performance to facilitate analysis on investment accounting results and interpretation of useful investment data over time.
Work with the actuarial function to ensure the completeness and accuracy of unit-linked investment assets with reference to the unit liabilities. Follow up on any discrepancies as necessary.
Liaise with the investment pricing and operation teams, in UK, to investigate and resolve pricing and reconciliation issues as they arise.
Participate in continuous improvement of the investment accounting model
Own and maintain the relevant financial control and risk framework processes and documentation for the investment balances, ensure that all models are working correctly.
Liaise with other finance teams to ensure issues are properly communicated
Assist in annual audit delivery and compliance with regulatory and group accounting requirement.
Develop and review procedures, controls and reporting to improve the quality of reporting, the value add from analysis and reporting and the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the teams work
Interrogation of finance systems including Oracle Fusion, fund accounting system and policy systems where applicable.
Assist with the relevant developments of ongoing projects and existing processes.
3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity
Experience of accounting for investments within a life assurance accounting environment
Technical knowledge of Life Assurance accounting (IFRS)
Good practical experience of preparing financial analysis
Experience of insurance environment, regulatory framework, solvency measures and actuarial principles and practises
Good liaison and organisation experience, both internal and external
Good experience of monitoring and improving controls and processes
