Event Officer, banking, up to 45K

Job description

My client is a stable company within the financial industry. They are now looking for event officer to support the execution of the logistical and technical aspects of in-person and virtual meetings and events.

Job Duties:

  • Act as the central contact for all logistical matters related to meetings/events
  • Maintain effective information flow with the relevant business areas, in line with agreed timelines, milestones, and budgets
  • Manage external service providers (hotels, caterers, transportation firms, event technology services, software applications, virtual event platforms, etc) in line with agreed service levels and ensure efficient and high quality service
  • Organize social events, including in coordination with co-hosts, where applicable, for meetings (eg sightseeing tours, excursions, etc)
  • Arrange for the planning and organization of meals/banquets

The ideal candidate will be:

  • At least 5+ years experience in the area of business relations, conference management, or hospitality services
  • Solid understanding of the latest developments in meeting/events related technology, including event management tools and virtual platforms
  • Strong guest and customer orientation
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in English; very good language skills in Mandarin would be an advantage.
  • Creative and innovative, with an ability to rapidly learn new tools and approaches.
