Director of Commercial Transformation | Consumer Goods

About the Role

Our client is a leading multinational consumer products organization undergoing a significant business transformation and digitalization journey across multiple international markets.

This role will lead the design, governance, and continuous improvement of global commercial processes and data standards, helping build scalable operating models that drive commercial excellence, business insights, and future digital capabilities.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior business and functional leaders to establish standardized ways of working, strengthen data governance, and enable the adoption of advanced analytics, automation, and AI-driven capabilities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and evolution of global commercial processes across customer management, pricing, trade investment, order-to-cash, returns management, and commercial analytics.
  • Define and implement scalable operating models that balance global standardization with local business requirements.
  • Establish governance frameworks to ensure consistent adoption of business processes across markets and functions.
  • Evaluate, approve, and manage justified business exceptions while maintaining process discipline and control.
  • Own the commercial data domain, including data standards, business rules, KPI definitions, and governance requirements.
  • Drive improvements in data quality, reporting consistency, and analytics capabilities to support business decision-making.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to enable digital transformation, automation, advanced analytics, and AI-driven use cases.
  • Develop performance measures to track process effectiveness, compliance, value realization, and transformation outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial, Sales, Finance, Technology, Supply Chain, Data & Analytics, and regional leadership teams.
  • Facilitate executive-level discussions, alignment workshops, and cross-functional decision-making forums.
  • Drive organizational adoption of new processes, capabilities, and ways of working through change management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Establish best practices, process methodologies, and knowledge-sharing mechanisms across markets.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and innovation.


Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in business transformation, commercial excellence, digital transformation, process improvement, operational excellence, strategy execution, or consulting environments.
  • Strong experience supporting FMCG, consumer products, or other multi-market consumer-driven organizations.
  • Proven track record leading large-scale transformation initiatives involving process redesign, operating model development, business change, or digital enablement.
  • Solid understanding of commercial functions, including customer management, pricing, trade promotion, sales operations, revenue growth management, order management, and commercial analytics.
  • Experience defining global process standards, governance models, business rules, data frameworks, and performance measures across multiple markets.
  • Strong capability in translating business requirements into scalable process and data solutions.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across commercial, finance, technology, supply chain, and analytics functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment within complex matrix organizations.
  • Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and project leadership skills.
  • Exposure to enterprise systems, ERP platforms, CRM solutions, data management, analytics, or digital transformation programs would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in English is required. Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) would be a definite advantage.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
