Branch Manager

Our client is an established international freight forwarding and logistics services provider with a strong regional network across Asia and major global trade lanes. The local branch operates as a full P&L unit, delivering integrated LCL, FCL, and value‑added logistics solutions to a diversified customer base. The business is in a growth phase and seeks a senior leader to drive expansion, profitability, and team development.

Responsibilities:

Business Leadership & P&L Ownership

  • Take full accountability for branch operations, financial performance, and profitability
  • Develop and execute medium‑ to long‑term business plans, annual targets, and sales budgets
  • Establish disciplined budget control, cost management, and performance tracking mechanisms
  • Analyse business data and market trends to adjust strategies and sustain profit growth

Market Development & Sales Growth

  • Lead market expansion initiatives in local and surrounding regions
  • Develop new customer pipelines while strengthening relationships with key accounts
  • Represent the branch in major commercial negotiations and contract discussions
  • Monitor freight market dynamics, rate movements, and competitor activities
  • Identify and grow business opportunities across LCL, FCL, and related services

Sales & Team Management

  • Build, lead, and motivate a high‑performing sales and operations team
  • Set clear individual and team sales targets with effective incentive structures
  • Coach team members on sales execution, account management, and complex deals
  • Review sales performance regularly and drive accountability on key initiatives

Operations & Organizational Management

  • Design and optimise branch organisational structure and management systems
  • Ensure smooth coordination across sales, operations, customer service, and finance
  • Monitor service quality and continuously improve customer experience
  • Handle operational escalations, incidents, and business‑critical issues

People Development & Governance

  • Lead recruitment, talent development, and succession planning for the branch
  • Build a performance‑driven, accountable, and collaborative team culture
  • Develop middle‑management capability and leadership bench strength
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and risk controls

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, or related disciplines
  • 10+ years of experience in freight forwarding, including strong exposure to LCL / FCL
  • Minimum 5 years in sales‑related roles and 3+ years managing a branch or business unit (multiple branches ideally)
  • Proven track record of market expansion, revenue growth, and team leadership
  • Strong understanding of end‑to‑end freight forwarding operations (booking, customs, trucking, warehousing, etc.)
  • Familiarity with major trade lanes (e.g. Europe, US, Southeast Asia, Middle East)
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and customer relationship management capability
  • Experience building or scaling teams is highly preferred
  • Fluent spoken English; Mandarin or Cantonese is an advantage
  • Comfortable with frequent market engagement and business travel
