Automation Test Engineer, Financial institution, 48k - 50k

Our client is a leading financial institution. They are looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented Automation Test Engineer to join their quality engineering team.

Job Duties:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts (e.g. using Ruby, Python, Selenium, Cucumber)
  • Execute automated tests, analyse results, and report defects clearly and promptly
  • Improve test coverage by enhancing existing automation and building new tests
  • Review business requirements and create functional test scenarios and cases
  • Manage defects, including tracking, retesting, and closure
  • Support business users in preparing test plans and summary reports
  • Work closely with developers, QA team, and stakeholders to ensure clear testing requirements
  • Learn from senior team members and participate in training activities
  • Support project delivery within agreed timelines and quality standards

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • At least 5 years of software testing experience, including 2+ years in automation testing
  • Basic knowledge of:
    • Automation tools (e.g. Selenium, Cucumber)
    • Programming (e.g. Ruby, Python, or Java)
    • Tools such as Git, JIRA, Jenkins
    • Linux/Unix environments
    • Web technologies (HTTP, HTML, XPath)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Proactive, willing to learn, and open to taking on new challenges
  • Good command of Cantonese and English
