Assistant IT Manager - UK HQ, base in HK

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and enhance IT business systems and applications development in Hong Kong
  • Responsible for IT budget planning and control, and implementation of IT related policy
  • Ensure data and systems security to comply with Hong Kong, Kaplan International and corporate standard and audit requirements (e.g. SOX)
  • Liaise with Global and Regional IT teams, Business Units, external vendors and service providers on technical design, delivery and support
  • Develop and execute IT projects by managing and coordinating resources to ensure that the projects are successfully completed within defined constraints
  • Coordinate with Kaplan International Business System and Applications Development teams to support and enhance the global computer systems
  • Act as architecture owner and is responsible for facilitating architecture decisions
  • Technical lead in Application Development and ensure that coding standards are followed
  • Provide feedback to developers or vendors through a structured peer review process
  • Own and improve deployment procedures and prepare technical release notes
  • Conduct regular inventory and documentation check and update
  • Assist Regional IT Director and Vice President to perform any ad-hoc projects or tasks.



Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Information Systems, Computer Science or other related disciplines. Candidates without degree may be assessed based on work experience
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience, with 2 years in supervisory role
  • Good technical knowledge in server, web, mobile and cloud technology
  • Relevant experience in the following areas:
    • Modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular
    • LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, PHP, MYSQL)
    • Modern PHP Frameworks preferably YII
    • Cloud infrastructure environment in AWS
  • Strong business sense and business operational experience
  • Self-motivated, goal oriented and with technical leadership ability
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and presentation skills
  • Confident, innovative, open-minded and communicative with a can-do attitude
  • Good communication and writing skills, in both Chinese and English
