Accountant - General Ledger

Our client, a reputable international group, is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee General Ledger management and accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly financial closing process, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal group accounting policies
  • Serve as a key finance contact to advise business units and support functions on appropriate accounting treatment
  • Maintain and oversee general ledger accuracy and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Handle fixed asset accounting, including asset creation, maintenance, depreciation, and CAPEX reporting
  • Prepare management and group reporting, providing clear variance analysis and financial insights
  • Support statutory audits and tax work, including audit coordination and preparation of annual financial statements
  • Work closely with external auditors and tax consultants as required
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, controls, and compliance
  • Participate in ad-hoc finance projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance; HKICPA / ACCA or equivalent professional qualification preferred
  • 3- 5 years of solid General Ledger experience, including month-end close and reporting
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes (GL, AP, AR, closing, reporting)
  • Experience with SAP or ERP or similar accounting systems is an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to work independently under tight deadlines
  • Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
